around here the silage boys free wheel down the mountain the problems arise when they try a guarantee claim and they are asked how did you get it up to fifty five mph also manitou props dont like going down hill as when the driver brakes the prop shaft does also

we’ve a brae here that’s claimed a few victims, chap was coasting the loadall down it, met car and hit the brakes, snapped a half shaft ?
Another chap over revved a jd7810 to the extent of shattering half the little metal caps that sit on the valve stems.

There was a seat jockey carting spuds back from the other side of Hay on Wye to a farm I worked on just south of Hereford on my old sprayer tractor a MF 3095 who tried the downhill overdrive with a full load on. His sphincter clenched at a point where we knew he would be doing close on 40mph and touched the brakes, we never did find the propshaft! We were lucky in that all it did was sheared off all the bolts and ripped the guard off, he just didn't have a job any more.

It's surprising how small minded some people are commenting on this. This seems just stupidity, obviously heavy as feck with damp grass on a slippery clamp, to close to the side.
However, just because it has gone wrong doesn't mean it is bad practice. Driving it over the clamp is normal on this part of the continent. I myself reverse it on as I have to little room to drive over.
Overhere we view it as very weird to put a clamp in a shed, so hey.
