Update on A449 road closure. RTC involving large goods vehicle carrying farm feed and a tractor/trailer carrying potatoes. Walking wounded were treated by West Midlands Ambulance Service. Both drivers had a lucky escape.
Fire crews from Ross and Whitchurch assisted with significant fuel leaks which were prevented from entering drains using environmental grab packs and soil. The road will be closed for some time while they wait for recovery of the vehicles.

From the skid marks and impact debris it would appear that the lorry was stationary and the tractor wasn't.

If you look at the skid marks the tractor was on the wrong side of the road?

ETA - Trailer full of potatoes, must be near or overweight. If DVSA handed out some overweight fines similar to HGVs there would be some people getting a shock.

I quite agree, if it had been 2 wagons, dvsa would be wanting a look, but as it's a tractor and lorry, they will not bother, does look like lorry was about stopped on impact, and tractor is a fault, bet the driver had chip on is shoulder his boss will be boiling, at the half baked idea of him driving, bit of a mash that lot, but will he get a roasting over it

Even if they have no dash cam you can, I think, still discover how fast the truck was going was it braking hard or swerving etc buy downloading the info from the truck.
Is that something that is true for tractors now too?

How does this sh1t happen on a road with a white line?

Many of the Irish lads will tell you we drive big machinery down roads barely wide enough for 2 cars, no white line and dont crash.

When drawing silage, slurry, the diggers, bale trailer I often meet artic loads of timber from the forestry opposite our farm, there is alot to be said for actually watching the road, doing your job properly and not checking fakebook on your phone!
