Xbox external hdd

Hello

Son has an Xbox one, he's got a game pass which means he can download games etc. He's now asking for an external hard drive to store more games on. Can we get a standard external one or does it need to be specifically for an xbox. If anyone has one they have bought could you post a link.

If it is a USB connection then I surmise, but have no direct experience, that a standard USB external hard drive would work fine.
This one on Amazon is actually advertised as being 'Best for consoles'.


Or browse this page to see what's available. There are good 500GB drives available for £25 but 1GB [twice the capacity] is probably what you would be best buying today. If it doesn't get used for the games console you could use it for backing up your lap or desktop computer.
