Xero Accounting and Barclays Bank

We have just moved to Xero online accounting and would like to get into a position where we can export a Bacs payment file from Xero and import it in to our Barclays Online account to do bulk payments.

We have just the regular Barclays online banking rather than the Business Internet Banking which our manager warned us off.

Is any one else doing this or using a Bacs service bureau to do bulk payments?

I use lloyds so it maybe different. Before I used xero I used bulk payments. Now with xero I use faster payments. that way each payee turns up as one item on the statement I then find it easier to reconcile (I still pay wages as a bulk payment). I dont create a file first in xero though so it may not be what you are trying to achieve.

There are other xero users on the forum who may not see it in off topic, I would think this warrants a place in Agricultural Matters or IT @llamedos

Bulk payments are a pain in the ass unless you have literally hundreds of payments to make.
Whatever you do don't let Barclays give you their bacs software, holy crap that was a new world of pain we quickly gave up with that.

I find the Barclays mobile app is quite good once you have someone's details entered once, I just have xero on my PC screen and do the payments with iPad.
That way they all show up on their own statement lines do easy to reconcile.

I hadn't realised that bulk payments resulted in one large payment going out! Have got loads to do but must be able to reconcile them individually

I think we will stick with how we are doing things already
