Does anyone offer this as a service?

We have a pickup and transit tipper for hay deliveries and my sister and her husband sell a few trees locally......I wondered if we could charge to collect and dispose of used trees?

Does anyone know what would be required to stay legal?

Waste carriers license? Would you need to provide waste transfer notes etc?

Could we simply chip them and compost or alternatively lose them in our woodland as habitat etc

Waste carrier certificate for starters ,,I move loads of green waste from my customers ,,never had a waste transfer book ,,nobody has ever asked .
Plenty of tree surgeons take green waste and chipping back to their yards so no different if you chipped crimbo trees for your own use

ah happy memories, we did it for 25 yrs as part of a garden waste composting project, just be aware of couple of points:
- its surprising how few trees you get in a trailer, jump up and down on the bloody things till out of breath, they just keep springing back to shape !
- some folks like to stick a 6" nail through the base to secure it, keep an eye out, one of them can wipe the profit.

The local hospice now provide this service for a donation. You may get a bigger uptake, and overall bigger income, if you said you were going to donate £x/tree to local worthy cause.

Apparently they don't go through wood chippers very well unless it's a very large one , otherwise you have to trim a lot of the lower branches off.
Would have thought once the feed rollers get hold of it ,it will go through easy enough even with the lower branches ,not going to many house hold trees 6-8ft max ,3 inches thick stem

Not found a christmas tree yet that will not go through my chipper. Be careful of metal stands as they will ruin a chipper. Would be easy task if you could mechanically feed but just to much rubbish still attached if you value your chipper.
