Yamaha quad disc brakes

Evening All.

Been looking at the quad (550) brakes today. The sliders on the calipers always seem to seize up and previous experience tells me it's a ball ache to sort them out....... has anyone got any tips?

ive got some red grease ready if that is what's required if I ever get them To part company!!

It's a 550fi grizzly I believe. 2015

You’ll be fighting a loosing battle, once they start to sieze up, once done they’re not long and their seized again. Sometimes new non genuine callipers are cheap enough but these ones are £93 but come with new pads

Yes. Good for ally to steel areas but not so good for the slider seals as it makes the rubber swell. I've been told red grease only for that area.

Any brake caliper grease will be fine. I use green stuff in a tin with a screw on brush lid thing - I think it's Permatex.

Mine didn't even do a year before seizing again though, I'll worry about them next time I need to do the pads. You're only using 1 of the 2 brake pads when the slides are seized - think of the savings!
