Have many found the Yara N Tester to be effective and reliable in what result comes back. Interested to know what growth stages people have perhaps used the tool at etc and other comments about it.

Yes I am definitely taking it with a pinch of salt. I want to use it in a different manor agronomically anyway. Our agronomist did a couple fields for us last year. Used satellite images also. It recommended 100kg/ha N. Already had 120 at that stage.
The wheat all went flat, w. barley stayed up.
He's no longer our agronomist. This is part of reason.
Definitely wouldn't use it again.
We are mainly livestock so lots of residual N.Yes I am definitely taking it with a pinch of salt. I want to use it in a different manor agronomically anyway.
Yes, it’s what’s underneath the crop that matters. not always what goes on top.We are mainly livestock so lots of residual N.
Agronomist aware of this, but unsure if that confused it.

There was or is the Isaria and Yara N sensors that have been used in the past to try to match applications to crop requirements, not sure what happened with them...I've always thought one on sprayer would be useful for variable rate PGR application on spring barley
There's grants for them. There was or is the Isaria and Yara N sensors that have been used in the past to try to match applications to crop requirements, not sure what happened with them...
You didn't add another 100kg did ya?Our agronomist did a couple fields for us last year. Used satellite images also. It recommended 100kg/ha N. Already had 120 at that stage.

Are they popular. There's grants for them.
So I expect they're still available
I did yes.You didn't add another 100kg did ya?
I would agree that tool would be best used for variable rate while applying the N rather than whether or not it needs more cause how could it know what's on the ground already..
But my problem with variable rate is how the hell are you suppose to know how much you need?
