Well it wasn't your nickname that's for sure!

Had an old school friend who I went through primary and secondary schooling with whose nickname was “Dumper”. He was a big chap 🤣
Haven’t seen him for over 30 years although his mother still lives locally.

where you gonna store bulk fert? it takes up 3 times the room & all very open to the world. 600kg bags are fab end of.
Infact 500kg ones were ever easier. but 750kg no thanks. simples

What are you talking about man !
Didn't know fertilizer in bags was under pressure and suddenly expanded to 3 times it volume when dropped in the spreader.

I'm fairly sure I can store 50t of bulk in the same area as you can stack 83 bags, unless you are stacking 3 high, in which case, good luck.

To be fair I have designed my system around bulk handling, which is so much easier, faster and safer.

bet ya £100 it takes more area up & all that brushing & shovelling graft coz its no that much diff to wheat it wants to run & spill into every corner.
if i had bulk fert here it would take far more work to move it all with the loader as you would need to tip it outside for a start.
Not a single shed here to tip artics. Plus when you put in in the shed its like a Pyramid it wont simple just stack with a straight vertical edge will it.
Its all good as someone said having them vertical hoppers to drive under etc etc but who pays for that?

i dont stack 3 high thankfully infact my TSP & MOP are just in single layer in the handy shed for outloading them soon again.
Nitrogen products are 2 high in my much longer term storage shed tho

I would suggest bulk is more prone to spillage and N runoff getting into drains and streams too.

yep its just got an extra risk to its storage & handling that for them reasons alone ive never used it & dont plan too.
Id rather pay that fee every 2 years to take all the bags to a Recycle centre & be done with it

Makes an adjustable one seem a better value option now sadly.
Got such a thing a Strimech all hydraulic but the extra weight of it partly & the distance the bags are set further forward kills the benefit of its whole purpose & why they cant make the tips like a sharp point i'll never know, only bought it as i tried that coated UREA one year as the extra height of the bags meant i couldnt stack them 2 high. Its sat gathering dust pretty much the last 4 year now. probs worth what i paid for it aswell.

As already said not everyone has a telehandler. While my loader tractor will loft a tonne you can tell you’ve got it on and I would rather not put so much strain on it, particularly when lifting to full height and standing under it.

Some are manual not hydraulic though I guess not much lighter. Hadn't considered the adjustable version could be heavier than fixed.

.....and bags swinging when turning.

On a flat yard with plenty of space then fine.....but a more cramped yard, with sloping concrete, low buildings, and just a loader tractor it’s less simple.

I am sure in Australia they used demountable backs in trucks for fert.
Leave them in farm you had so many days to empty and then they either swapped or took it away.

Would that work with artic trailer somehow?

Would it be too specialist for use for rest of year?
.
Sorry more questions than answers
