Yearling heifer

Iv a yearling heifer that's gone blind she been on hard feed since 6 weeks but just went blind last 2 days any thoughts never had this before

One of the possible side effects is blindness aparantly. I dont think they recover youd better buy it a white stick.:cry: If you clip their backs at the same time, it goes into the body too quick, or something like that causing an overdose.

Has she been getting minerals?

Vitamin a deficiency??? It's in grass as carotene, but not in barley without mineral supplementation. However, wouldn't have thought 6 weeks was long enough for symptoms to show.

There on a 18% blend mixed with more barley adding a extra mineral and buffer too and a bale of hay to pick on as well
