Iv a yearling heifer that's gone blind she been on hard feed since 6 weeks but just went blind last 2 days any thoughts never had this before

No the look normal maybe a touch inflamed or maybe they look that way with her not blinking she keeps her eye lids open all the time

One of the possible side effects is blindness aparantly. I dont think they recover youd better buy it a white stick. If you clip their backs at the same time, it goes into the body too quick, or something like that causing an overdose.

Has she been getting minerals?

Vitamin a deficiency??? It's in grass as carotene, but not in barley without mineral supplementation. However, wouldn't have thought 6 weeks was long enough for symptoms to show.

There on a 18% blend mixed with more barley adding a extra mineral and buffer too and a bale of hay to pick on as well
