Yet another mass shooting in the USA

Put it in to politics @Robt as it sits better here if you don't mind

Gun control will never happen in US but I'm almost certain that the Founding Fathers did not envisage semi auto rifles in their "Right to Bear Arms" declaration

Your hole. The Dems have been pushing for background checks on weapons for decades, the overwhelming majority of Americans on both sides of the political divide are also for it but are being blocked by Republican senators.
They do have background checks to purchase Guns
A reporter
from one of the big news organisations tryed to buy a gun to show how easy it was he was turned down as he had a conviction for hitting his wife

Depends on the state.

Wellytrack is right - around 95% of voters polled state they want better checks and some restrictions on buying weapons, but 50 politicians (mostly Republican iirc) have been blocking the legislation for years.

How awful. Have you actually looked at what the checks are and how they are made up? Did you know that the NRA and most Republican’s insist refusing a weapon because of mental health issues would discriminate unfairly towards them?

I'm not sure that making buying a gun harder would make a huge difference the problem is the huge numbers already in circulation.
In 2012 we were in the states when they had a mass school shooting, there was a piece on the news from a gun shop, it was the size of your average B&Q here and they said sales always go up after these shootings as people buy guns to defend themselves.
I gave up my licence here a few years ago but if I lived in the states I would definitely have a gun to protect myself and family

It's the same logic as carrying a knife in an inner city, the main difference is that guns are big business in the US, but then again so are prisons.
