Yet more BBC bias

Caught the end of a question and answer session with Jo Swinson on BBC this morning just after ten. Farmer phoned in asking how they would protect the public from imported meat of dubious welfare status. To give her her due Jo Swinson started talking about sustainability etc and the presenter asked her if she would recommend stopping eating meat. The farmer questioner started to say more and before Swinson could reply the presenter cut her off.
Just watching election question time and inevitably the debate comes round to climate change.
Fair play to Jo Swinson calling for locally and sustainably produced food, all the presenter wanted to do was repeatedly drag it back to people doing their bit by eating less meat, never mentioned taking less flights. :scratchhead:

25,000+ years ago Europe had 1km of Ice ALL over. In fact it was both hemispheres.

CO2 was 180ppm

ALL that ICE has melted with CO2 around 180ppm - today it's about 400ppm.

Note that the industrial revolution was about 150 years ago.
Note that this has happened MANY times in the history of the Earth. In fact Ice Caps are not a normal situation for the Earth at all.
Note that "Normal" temperatures for the Earth is higher than today .. unsurprising given the Earth is just coming out of an Ice Age.

I'd say the Climate Lunatics are the ones telling lies .. and the reason is purely down to making money out of taxing the poor to give to the rich.

It is surely well on its way into the next ice age, except it isn't cooling as one would expect? The last ice age, even mini ice age, was centuries to millennia ago.

And Nigel Farage? Who said loud and clear that grass fed beef and lamb was not the issue.

The five major ice ages in the paleo record include the Huronian glaciation (2.4 billion to 2.1 billion years ago), the Cryogenian glaciation (720 million to 635 million years ago), the Andean-Saharan glaciation (450 million to 420 million years ago), the Late Paleozoic ice age (335 million to 260 million years ago) and the Quaternary glaciation (2.7 million years ago to present).

These large ice ages can have smaller ice ages (called glacials) and warmer periods (called interglacials) within them. During the beginning of the Quaternary glaciation, from about 2.7 million to 1 million years ago, these cold glacial periods occurred every 41,000 years. However, during the last 800,000 years, huge glacial sheets have appeared less frequently — about every 100,000 years, Sandstrom said.

This is how the 100,000-year cycle works: Ice sheets grow for about 90,000 years and then take about 10,000 years to collapse during warmer periods. Then, the process repeats itself.

Did anyone watch Attenborough on TV sunday. he was talking about the polar bears having to eat beluga whales now the ice is retreating due to global warming.. then showed pictures of the bears at the edge of a woodland. now just how long ago did the ice retreat to be able grow trees. The programme was clearly filmed during the summer, without the ice !

It really has come to something when the once respected BBC is now not to be trusted or believed on many, if not most, of the stories it runs. There is certainly a strong agenda at work as BBC becomes ever closer to official “Newsspeak” We should all be very very worried, but more importantly aware.
infuriates me when they round figures up, nearly 20,000, no its actually 19,000 5 % less would they be happy with a 5% pay cut not well stop exaggerating figures then!!

We have all been told to reduce our salt consumption but if you watch the BBC then that nearly impossible as it all need a bloody good pinch!

If you believe that you will believe anything. Out of all the billions of pieces of data collected there is not one shred of evidence that burning fossil fuels doesn’t warm the climate.

My comment was absolutely fair on Trump’s attitude to climate change. He will say anything to protect the fossil fuel industry. BTW there is nothing more deadly than climate change. No, not joking either.
Would it have been any different if the other presidential candidate had won?
They all have their fingers in the till, and self preservation comes first.
I'd disagree that there is nothing more deadly than climate change, yes it's up there but like most things in life ,its what you don't expect that will get you, nuclear disaster either deliberate or unintentional, massive meteor shower from elsewhere in space, or even for something to shift earth out of its correct orbit, far fetched maybe but not outside the realms of possiblity.
Given the emotive aspect of climate change, the manipulation of science by NGO's and shear lack of positive direction by governments, has actually anything been achieved in the last 25-30 years?

There's no evidence that CO2 has been a driver of Climate at all. The Earth's orbit around the Sun drives the Earth's climate .. CO2 does NOT end an Ice Age nor does it create one. The only significant factor is the orbit of the Earth around the SUN.

CO2 can be taxed .. rich people can get richer by taxing poor people.

FACT:
There was NO fossil fuel burning for the past 25,000+ years of warming .. melting almost all of the 1km thick of Ice across both hemispheres of the planet.

200,000mm of sea level rise .. compare that to the moaning of the latest "Climate Scientist" of 10mm ..

The last Ice Aged ENDED with CO2 at the LOWEST possible 180 PPM in the atmosphere. 1km thick of Ice Melting across both hemispheres. According to "Climate Science" the world should have got colder .. that DID NOT HAPPEN.

CO2 does NOT warm the planet to the extent fantasised.

You're just a puppet of those engineering the movement of jobs, wealth and technology to other parts of the world so a VERY small number of already Rich Billionaires can get both immensely rich & powerful.

And to be fair to the BBC, if you look on there News site fact checker it confirms that the case against grazing livestock and for trees is not sound.
Careful arse covering in my opinion, all in the name of balance.
They sling the mud, dodgy science and manipulated truth on prime time tv/radio and then hide the real facts where the vast majority of the population can't be bothered to look.
But hey, they've put it out there so a legal challenge would be difficult.
