These things are a lot more common on farms around here than a 4x4 with livestock trailer. They are relatively inexpensive and can move a lot of animals in one go just so long as you aren't going too far.

With 50k tractors and air brakes etc, I can't understand why they aren't even more popular around here, I know if I was still involved in livestock that's the route I would go. Seen to many upside down pick ups and trailers :(

thats it though isn't it......most ppl are influenced by 'style' over practical.....i bet that truck is just as practical as many of the others but bereft of looks (and price tag) it's ridiculed

i'm not saying it's any good cos don't know and it won't become iconic.....but look at other cars that started out 'utilitarian' and the the ppl that drove them made them cool....so much so they got hijacked into luxery end for ppl who want to be thought cool.....vw beetle and mini;)

same with pick ups.....used to be utilitarian but now more about perceived status
A ute is brought to do a job not a perceived object of status, had I have to get a new ute now probably the only one that meet my requirements is the 70 Series Landcruiser.
Cars on the other hand are even more difficult, nothing from Europe , the Audi/BMW/MB/VW or anything French or Italian inspires, North American is dire,LHD or overpriced , so that only leaves Japan and South Korea....Hyundai or Kia?🤔
True happiness probably hides in a VG to CM Valiant!!!😆

Plenty of utes looked like status symbols when I worked on Australian farms.
The quickest way to sort a "pretender" from a real ute is by the amount of dirt on it and how much paint has been "removed" from the bull bar, you'll see plenty of farm utes here and 200 Series Landcruiser used as work vehicles then go to town and see Rangers and Navara 4WD's that have never been off-road.

A friend of mine has one of these, I take the proverbial out of it, that said I do use it a fair bit, 1.6 hdi. Frugal on juice, carries 1t and is all in all a great machine if not needing to go off road or tow a trailer. Sides come of with an Allen key in a couple of minutes. Ideal little pickup.
