Calling all farmers in Yorkshire (near Reeth)!

Are you free from 7:00pm on 3rd December and fancy a free pub dinner? We're holding a farmers' discussion meeting on environmental farming advice relating to water pollution and it is important that we hear from as many farmers as possible; I'd like to know how useful you find the information you're given and whether you'd like more/less/different advice in the future! This research is partly funded by the Environment Agency so your views could influence policy.

Please sign up using the Eventbrite link below or by emailing me: [email protected]

I'm not entirely sure they have inside pipes up there, let alone internet!

Reeth has (or at least had) what is probably the two best Country House Hotels in the whole world.

The Arkleside and the Burgoyne. In addition, it has three good pubs - the Black bull, the Buck and the King's Arms. And Reeth Show is almost certainly the UKs premier agricultural exhibition.

So go and run up Sutton Bank and contemplate your naval. :) Although it won't do any good. You can always tell someone from the East Riding, but you can't tell them much, if anything.

I'm a North Yorkshire lad thanks, just a dirty incomer on the Moors.

Sorry if I offended you. But you did cast aspersions on what is the most famous village in the whole of Britain. And apart from the three pubs, there are another five within a few miles, and Tan Hill, the highest pub in the UK not much further on. For those who don't know, Tan Hill is the square root of three (1.732) X 1000 ASL - or 1732ft ASL.

I wonder if Ted Moult knew that when he was dropping feathers down the inside of the bay windows to test their draught-proofedness.

We still have plenty of spaces available if anyone's interested in coming along! I understand a lot of guys may not use the internet so I'm also going to be making phone calls to my existing farmer contacts but I wanted to make sure everyone on the forum knows they're invited along too :)
