Get ready for a barrage of local walkers and tourists to Yorkshire walking everywhere

New website with walks uploaded coming soon

It’ll end in tears(tiers), with people rampaging where they shouldn’t go

‘Public goods for public money’ will be the HMG defence, no doubt [emoji85]

You miserable, miserable people.
Any idea what the last 9 months has been like for the 99% of the population that live in more crowded conditions than we do ?
Everyone on here loves to moan about folks flying abroad and how much more damage that does than cows, then when they stay here you still moan. Where, exactly, do you want them to go for their r and r ?
They do carry money you know. Sell them stuff.

Or even engage with your consumer. I have one small field bisected by two footpaths and the most popular walk in the village. I always stop and talk , re-enforce a few key messages about Neospora and dogs under control etc but also explain the benefits of native cattle for good wholesome slow food and for the environment. Same with networking on FB. If they tell their urban relatives and friends and if their children grow up loving my cows it's a well won PR story

I do accept it must be tough on some with land on the most popular tourist routes

They can come but with some respect and consideration got group's coming round here 3,4or5 dogs with them not on leads when they see you coming they call them in and put them on leads soon as your out of sight they let them off again. Then there's the others that want to go where there's no right of way so they take the wall down so they can get in

We dont have as many walkers as at the peak of the first lockdown. Rare to have a cross word and many have helped turning up cast ewes and pointing out dead sheep, as one might expect two expired laying across the footpath in fields two parishes apart in 2020.😥

A village local to us is full of cars blocking driveways and businesses, the footpaths are well over used as people are straying far into fields over crops, there’s litter and dog crap and broken fences.
There had been a recent push on how nice this walk was, we walked it very early on Boxing Day, on our way home we met big groups of people with uncontrollable dogs off leads, moaning about the mud wearing white trainers.
we recently had to fence these idiots out of a field that apparently “looks like a footpath”
We even had abuse of somebody for “fencing off a footpath”
The uneducated dopes have survived and thrived in towns, breeding out any brain cells slipping into a low IQ world of H&S to protect them from reality, and now they descend on the countryside for there “mental health” for a few likes on social media

After having to shoot a roe yesterday, once I’d managed to get the collie of it, then yes, I am a miserable person. Too many of them have no respect for the countryside or what’s in it.

I get sick of telling people to keep dogs on leads, to be told itsonly crops there not doing any harm ,
dogs running through osr which is at a vulnerable shedding stage, walking through barley and dogs running through it, to b told it’s only grass
most are ok though

Ah the dog shite!
I was just folding down the tedder to throw the grass I’d cut out, when a dirty great dog ran into the field and stated to squeeze one out, right in the middle of a bout right behind the tractor, the owners came rushing in worried and looking. I saw that he was getting a bag ready so I pushed the pto into gear... bang! went the overload clutch on the shaft, as I had my earplugs in and didn’t notice the revs were a bit high... dog leapt a few feet in the air and cleared out without curling one down. Got an apologetic looking smile from her so I smiled and went on my way.

I do get annoyed when they use the black wrapped bales as targets for their bows and arrows though.
