I keep hearing about people milking Holsteins in 40:80 sized parlour claiming to milk 200hrs an hour with two men. When you actually either nail them down or go have a look. There’s 3+men, they spend most their time pushing cows and so are only doing 140/hr and then they’ve got to was down a big parlour.
I can milk 200 in the first hour, the second hour only 150 with 1.5men

Yes but averaging 12l a milking

33l+ here on x2. Farm in the group is 32:64 but Polish men do the milking and only milking 3 months on 3 months off. Another guy I know is 25:50 adf on 500 cows and he’s gone x3 to get milking time’s down. I don’t want to build something too small/slow the day it goes in.

At the same time I don’t want to burden myself with high costs later down the line.

I’d go for a rotary I think, 25/50 is pretty sore on the body I feel
