Bit cart before the horse as we are waiting for the shed to come but the drains are going in and the cone is the centre point (time & tide and all that)

I bet he doesn't milk himself with a statement like that.
Milking yourself??? That's for the off topic thread

The guy I worked for in NZ would buy a farm set it up and put in a share milker then move to the next farm. He said all you needed was a 50:100 swing over no shedding no acrs etc. Yet all the farms he did the milking on had rotaries acrs, pro trac etc!!!

He also doesn’t seem to care either! Drove past one farm the other day which is right by the main road and there was one of his men hip lifting a cow in full view. Seems to me his attitude to animal welfare is disgusting quite honestly

But.... why?
Why no roof? or why a website like that with gibberish down the left side?

I think they save £40-50k with no roof. For that one, they had to build an underpass under a local road which wasn't in the original budget, so that helped them a bit. (If I remember correctly, I saw them speak once)

It's coming on , that venables had his rotary outside with no roof and said the staff quite like milking outside ,

Know one of them very well & whilst they don't mind in summer, February when it's blowing a hooly (like most days on the Island & their rotary faces in to the prevailing wind) and there is snow and frost in the air, they wear 3 coats & huddle down behind the animals for some warm. There is also a space heater IIRC.

When they spent at least £460k on the set up (& probably much more when you look around and if the cows are counted in which they should be) spending another £40k on a shed is very small beer.
