You won’t believe this

My mate runs a beef and sheep farm. One of his neighbours has glamping pods which border my friends farm. Yesterday morning he gets a very irate couple in his yard going mad that his cows have been having s*x in front of their children. Apparently they’d gone mad at the glamping pod site owner who explained the animals weren’t his. They demanded to know who’s they were, so turned up. My friend basically just laughed and asked them to leave. Next thing he knows the police are in his yard regarding an animal indecent exposure and sexual matter!! I kid you not, he’s now got to give a statement about his cows today at his local station. Apparently he’s been invited in voluntarily but if he doesn’t attend he could be arrested.

I’d let the arrest go ahead …..

Reminds me of a particularly officious EHO who brought 7 police officers with him when putting a prohibition notice on my bottling dairy because he didn’t like the way we had never had a complaint against our produce and had consistently excellent bacterial count results ( even bulk milk TBC was always below 4 and occasionally zero when Band “A” was 20 and below)

And the TFF didn't happen of the year award goes to.....

There are a few scenarios where this may possibly be true:
a)There's a BIG part of the story missing.. possibly the way the guy asked the campers to leave?
b)The campers have made some fairly serious false allegations and nothing to do with animals just to get the police involved.

There's no way the police would waste their time on this unless there is something missing from the story.

But it is one of these you couldn't make it up situations.. who knows

That's total nonsense. The police do not turn up asking people to come down for interviews about made up offences..... Assuming that this isn't total bullpoo I would guess he is being looked at for a public order offence based on what he said to the people.
They might have told the police he had a Friesian Bull loose and it was dangerous,
Does anyone want to hear the story of the Butterfly man who was told to Fek off
If ever you come into contact with him get the best china out and a large piece of humble pie and custard, you will regret it if you don't

You have to wonder in this situation. What would Clarkson do.?? Would make great TV that's for sure seeing him pull the p** out of some city dwellers who came to the country side for peace and quiet.

This times a thousand. Never never never have 'an informal chat' alone with the police at the station. It isn't an informal chat, it'll be a recorded interview, and anything you say can and will be used against you. They only ask for this when they have nothing to go on, and hope you'll say something stupid they can use against you. And you won't necessarily know what could be something incriminating. Your solicitor will and will prevent you putting your foot in it.

Just any solicitor won't do. Mine doesn't do court work and suggested I get a lawyer who takes on criminal work (which would have cost me approximately £500) when my guns were seized and the police wanted a "chat". In the event, I opted for the company of my MP which cost me nothing.

Then another time, dear sweet neighbour reported me for taking photographs. The police demanded an explanation, why was I taking photographs? I told them they wouldn't get an explanation and if I had committed a crime, they had better arrest me. For some reason, they chose not to!:D Maybe they are learning?

This is a sad situation. However many of us have what seem like pointless interviews under caution and at some point common sense breaks out.
The bigger point is education and maybe right at the start there was a missed opportunity to educate the public. I can only speak as operator of a small caravan / camping site but we find the public are really interested in farming and we think part of our job is to educate.
One guest was thrilled with how friendly cows were, and she touched them over a gate. No big deal to us but to a town dweller this was an event.
I don’t think the public are trying to be difficult.

I tend to disagree, I went camping a couple of years ago, at the National Trust farm, that includes Snowdon (well one side anyway), I saw the farm manager and went over to have a chat, and he said, virtually all the campers there have no interest in the farm at all or the sheep or cattle. I was interested because I had seen an episode Cefn Gwlad about that farm (from about 30 years ago).
