That's a joke, right?China
Part of me agrees with that on a financial level. But mental health today is far worse.
bet they all get or have got some form of government subsidy, I would think everyone hasTotal hypocrisy
From the do as I say not as I do brigade.
Pathetic.
( I do recognise not all posters on this thread suckle from the subsidy teat)
Not sure I agree with that. Yes there is trauma associated with war. But on the other hand there is a huge collective feeling and a shared goal. I’m not sure that exists anymore. Social media can be a good thing but for many people it just exacerbatesThe differences between those that have and those that don’t. Also now we are a far more materialistic society which isn’t good for anybody or our planet. All this has led us to the situation where millions of people take tablets for their mental health and sadly many take there own lives.Hard to measure , but todays generation has better mental health than the generation who went through the first world war or maybe the Blitz ??
Young Britons Really Want Socialism (Without Paying for It)
New research from the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) shows that a whopping 67% of Britons aged 16-34 would like to live in a socialist economicorder-order.com
I think over 50% of the population work for the public sector in some form or otherSpose the irony of your post is lost on you, given NI sucks £11B from London annually. Some might say that‘s socialism on steroids. I couldn’t possibly comment….

Steady onPublic sector — WORK????
Very big differences in how hard teachers work between schools and within schoolsSteady on
Yes. A lot public sector workers work hard
Health service
Teachers etc
Your problem in the south is your unions not the workers
That’s the same regardless of occupation either in or out of the public sectorVery big differences in how hard teachers work between schools and within schools
Extrapolating a wee bit from the thread's title, but... it isn't just the UK that is seeing such stupidity. @Ashtree has told me, and I believe him in this instance, that it's a real problem in the ROI too and could, possibly, even see Sinn Fein in government there.
I'm more sceptical of that than him, it simply doesn't seem to me that Joe average in the ROI will really vote for SF other than in protest and when sure there isn't a chance of them getting in. But I could be wrong...
Point is, this isn't a UK-only thing, I hear the same from friends in Germany and Denmark; both countries seem pretty 'social' already to me, but it seems the young there are calling for it to be even more so.
Hence my heartfelt belief that the voting age should be raised to 25, not lowered to 16. The longer we keep people in further education and istitutionalised the more important this is.Young Britons Really Want Socialism (Without Paying for It)

I have, note the last graph China now has less people in absolute poverty than then the USA and at 7or 8% growth, the trend looks set to continue at least until they run out of working age people. You might want to look at that in detail.
The question was about communism though, they don't have communism in China, they had to give it up as a failureI have, note the last graph China now has less people in absolute poverty than then the USA and at 7or 8% growth, the trend looks set to continue at least until they run out of working age people.
