Young Farmer declarations

I have left the RPA to get back to me (call back service.....we will wait and see)...

We claimed Young Farmer Status last year and filled out the necessary forms and declarations that required filling out and signing by our accountant.

Does anyone know if that rigmarole has to be carried out again to prove our status, or was the once enough.

On the application form it says 'if you are applying for young farmer status please submit declaration documents by 15th May'.

I assume (likely wrongly) that I applied and was successful last year so have that status approved.......therefore shouldn't need to 'apply' again.....

But the more I get to learn about this system I am thinking I probably need to prove it all over again......

Unfortunately you will have to apply again. And as far as I understand it is a slightly different application this year!!! [emoji85]

Ok cool, I have printed off the declaration, it looks the exactly the same as last year..... atleast I can't remember anything different, will dig out last years and compare and contrast...

Apply every year this is our fourth year i think. unfortunetly our accountant ticked a wrong box one year saying we were applying for extra units from national reserve, but as we dint actually need them we had a shity letter back from rpa saying we cant apply again which is a bugger as we have taken on more ground without entitlements since!

Accountant should be sorting that out then on your behalf in full

So just spoken to the RPA, they have said.....

I can return a copy the original application, but must accompany it with a signed declaration from the person/s legally entitled to make changes to the business that nothing has changed to the way the business is run and that you still adhere to the requirements of the young farmer top up....
