Back in my day it was all jeans and gilets were in fashion then too, but they usually had Tolkan or BOCM or Bibby logo on. All topped off with either DMs or cowboy boots.
The smart young blades had a XR4x4, XR3i, Golf GTi or similar bought for them to slum it through college in.

That’s the line I used with the wife to explain spending £235 on a pair of Meindl boots on Friday. Apparently, the business now owes her shoes to at least the same value.

I’ve got a friend who suffers the same punishment, treated himself to a new Beretta EELL, then had to spend the same again on her, I cannot understand why they would think it should work that way!

Jeans must be hung up on the pull on tabs at the back of the dealer boots. If there is a hint of wet or shi*e around one must wear 'Le Camels' but they must be the £200 hunting ones not the cheap £100 Ceres variety. Girls may only wear doobery boots if there is no chance of water or poo.

Whats wrong with looking reasonably smart with a country touch to it? I cant see a problem with it and not exactly funny? I doubt they all wear exactly the same. Its one of those cases that if you start looking for something you will think there is suddenly more than there really is. I can think of much worse ways to dress!

Don't think there's anything wrong with it, I think the comment was everyone kind of looks the same.
I always put it down to the fact that young farmers/farmers all bought their clothes at a country stores type places so they could go on the farm account.
Its the same here, just a different look.
You lot made me google schoffel on the cereals thread the other day now i'm going to have to google 'gilet'

Gilet is what posh people / wannabe posh people call a body warmer.
