Young stock on kale

got a lot of foul in the foot on our yearlings this winter on kale. I know you usually get a couple but we've had 10+ out of 125.
Is there any way of minimalising this?
Also we seem to grow monster yields in our kale 2m tall, which is great but means you can only really move the fence as far as they can eat under the fence without using quad to push it down and waste, which I don't want to do. We have been moving fence 2-4 times a day.
Is it best to have big yields or easy management(shorter variety kale)?

Thats one of the problems with high dm per acre crops the stocking rates are just too heavy when it's wet. Do you ever bring them into a yard while they are being wintered? If so footbathing with forulmulin will help a lot.

They're accross road from main platform but still walking distance. Just on the field all of the time. Are high DM kales with thin stalks more prone to puncturing feet rather than thick watery ones like Maris kestrel? Been a great winter so far for outwintering with low rainfall on our sandy soil. You can usually see puncture mark between hoofs. We also have quite a bit of lamb tongue weed in the kale, but I think puncture wounds are more kale size.

We usually get a couple of cases through winter but haven't seen any yet this year.

I tend to start mine on swift or redstart because it's supposedly softer stemmed and more paletable and then move onto sovereign.

I got a new phone last week so haven't got my usual 1000+ cow photos to hand. This was last week on a bit that I think I a mix of emerald and sovereign.

Ours would mostly be about 3 feet tall and we have to cut under the fence each day.
