To be honest I wouldn't be surprised. The five year olds have been marred due to the lock down and fear of close contact (I know its affected ours but not as much as one living ina more populated area). Certainly has changed the way they play with others and lockdown learning has made the bond and dependence on parents stronger.

the Older kids have had their race become an issue and being made to feel like an oppressor and have to apologise for the deeds of previous generations. Then they've had Greta telling them they're going to die and blaming their parents for the fact they've ruined their future. I f4cking hate Greta.... nasty, angry piece of work.

What they need to do is get some exercise, it can sort all sorts of issues, perhaps walking to school everyday instead of being driven might help they could always do some gardening to help on the food miles and perhaps put a jumper on in winter to cut down on heating use.
Still I expect they think getting mummy to drive them a 100 miles to go on a climate march is much more useful .

They need to be taught how to find their place in the world.

Kids are told these days "you can do anything you want, you can do anything you like" and as they get older they realise it's not true...

I do believe exercise is vitally important... us humans were not made to sit down all day (although it seems to be a large part of my day job unfortunately)

They need education, they need to be busy, they need to go to bed tired

This. We have SEN kids come to the farm every Wednesday, lad yesterday really jumpy, nervous energy, teacher says he is regularly excluded from school for his language and behaviour. Gave him a shovel and asked him to get the bedding muck out of the corners I couldn't get to, end of it he was really pleased with himself. They need work.

The last 18 months been worse than the 5 year period during WW2 ? Food rationing, curfews, roads closed, cities obliterated, kids evacuated to other parts of the country, nights spent in bomb shelters....
I've not experienced either, so shouldn't really comment, but I'd say my parents/ grand parents generation had it far worse. They turned out OK 🤷‍♂️

2 years national service
6 year apprenticeship
And alkathenevpipe at school would cure a lot of problems
The country has it too easy
Every thing plentiful and want it now
But is it the same world over
Sat on old digger in middle of field digging a culvert out having a brew listening to the birds etc
What has your average kid got to do in a hogh rise or council estate. f**k all
Need work or some thing but most too lazy as 3 generations bred like it
What is it with this anxiety job now
A lad in yard other day whittling on about worrying about things
W t f
What has he to worry about no money issues has a car woman job etc
Food in his cupboard a roof over his head
At 19 what is that he has conselling every week

Youngsters need time to grow up, the system pushes them and calls them young adults and even think they should vote at sixteen. Let them live some life before they get thrown into adulthood. To many kids being ruined by a one size fits all system.
Have heard of infant school kids getting upset because teachers have a go at them for not eating healthy food or exercising
The system is broke

Bloody bbc themselves have played a massive part in this problem. Politicising youngsters under the banner of “inclusiveness”, let them be kids. They don’t need to be worrying about it. They shouldn’t have it relentlessly forced upon them.

It is weak and unscrupulous adults in positions of influence disproportionate to their intelligence and understanding that have created this issue.

Kids are amazing, they are blank canvasses, if they’re suffering stress and anxiety then one needs to question who is causing it.

I’m open minded towards the challenges ahead but in no way do I think that there will be significant change even in my children’s lifetimes. The attention grabbing shock headlines and lack of balance in discussions, specifically the (lack of) questioning of motives behind “alternative” foods etc are, I feel, the root causes of this problem.

There is the potential to alienate generations from each other by over-empowering young minds.

I notice a lot of folks in our Daughters generation seem to have been conditioned into a 'get someone else to do it' culture because they believe most work or jobs are just too dangerous or complicated. Maybe this attitude comes from teaching, by parent example or the general safety culture. I like to think we have encouraged ours to 'have a go first' attitude, rather than stare at a screen for hours watching Tikery Tock....On a positive note, you can always sell loads of stuff to folks who won't do much for themselves.
Note: A war was great for the Generals but absolute shite for everyone else......:(

Greta Thornburg? What a role model...shows how an unbalanced vegan diet can ruin a person's health...she's 18, but looks like an unhealthy 8!

And her parents have frightened the life out of her with regard to climate change. She already has anxiety from her aspergers and ocd and they shat her up more. I think its terrible

Human mind doesn't work like that though, something that is a completely trivial issue to some people can be nigh insurmountable to others and there's no predicting what outwardly trivial thing is going to end up being your own "mountain from a molehill".
