Anywhere from £1.20-£2.50 per day, depending on circumstances…
or if it’s just the shed we have an arrangement with a retired neighbour. We pay water bill, do everything with the cattle and spread the muck on his ground. We get the cubicle shed and feeding yard FOC.

It was the whole reason we got the cubicles shed. His farm is desperate for muck so he’s quite happy too let us have the shed for nowt as long as all the cow muck gets spread on his farm. Saves us a fortune in straw, so I feel I’m still on the winning side.

We rent a slatted shed for 80p per head per week if that's any help? We do all the work, provide all the feed and keep all the slurry
