Your crop prospects 2015??

You drilled a bit early IMO with the lupins

Agree in principle, but we often dont get a 2nd chance. They are growing fast now, but some nice rain would get them all in sync, rather than popping up one at a time into the waiting mouths of vermin.

How well do you think your crops will yield this year??

I drove across the UK yesterday and whilst OSR crops look good there were very few fields of Wheat/ Barley that looked very promising and clearly showing the effects of the dry April so far.

Same as normal. When do we ever get a year that's not 'average'? Once every 10 yrs perhaps?

So 3.5t/ac winter milling wheat and 3t/ac spring milling wheat.

Most crops here looking good, would say with some rain they'd be looking great. Either way hopeful of decent yields

We should never count our chickens before they hatch. Some good looking crops about but anything can happen before they are safely in the shed. By then they are looking more likely to be worth f all so even with a fantastic harvest the balance sheet ain't going to be to enjoyable reading .

A dry spell early on should encourage the plants to get their roots down, should stand them in good stead if we have a really dry spell later on, there is still plenty of moisture a few inches down in my clay, a drop of rain next week to wash in the fert and they should romp away. That said my clover seeds are sitting there desperate for a drink at the moment.
