I fail to understand how 4 different BBC forecasts can be so different. 9.55pm yesterday said dry Sunday, unsettled especially on east coast rest of week. Owen Wynn Evans on BBC Lincs and Look North much the same. Tonight they say could be dry all week and BBC webpage dry all week. How is one expected to plan ahead!1

Forecasts are hardly worth reading for longer term outlook either.

"Possibly unsettled and possibly some longer drier spells". Just about covers anything and means nothing.,

All they ever say is " there will be a north south divide, unsettled and windy in the north west . showers giving way to longer periods of rain. " I've had my fill of leering weather forecasters , who think that all we need is a couple of dry hours to pop down the shops.

They seem to have no concept of the economic damage being done.

Was lovely here today but in the last hour it has started pissing down, full on heavy stuff, I won't be doing any ground work tomorrow if it stays like this all night!

Just heard him on the Westminster Hour ( of all places) ,and he said best time to visit West of Scotland is mid April to mid May.
He used to have a cottage near Mauchline , so he knows what he's on about.

We are now over 105 mm for first 20 days of August. That's after 112.5 in July and 132 in June ( wettest recorded June in Scotland ).
Pretty much all hope gone here.

hot and sultry here and we are carting and stacking little bales got under perfect conditions yesterday under a hot tin roof , surely I must have some vital paperwork to do, ah yes farm assurance re harvest results and storage ,perfect, completely changed my opinion on the waste of time and effort of fa !!!!!!
