    That's tropics type storms!
Only last year the fires were nearly upon you, now you sound drowned out.
Is this normal for your part of Portugal?

No, just heavy rain. We (my wife and I) have experienced bigger falls in NSW, and worse flooding.

The nearest fire was nearly a mile away last summer. That is a long way. We have had them licking the boundary here, but they are much smaller than occur in Australia (or N. America) so do not carry the same threat. In Australia (where every landholder is automatically a member of the Bush Fire Brigade) I was in one that lasted more than a fortnight, and knew of bigger ones. I do not consider fires a problem.

It is all just part of farming. Different countries have different problems. Taking everything into account, our worst experience was the 1978/79 winter when we were just about wiped out by extreme snow that killed most of our sheep. That was in Northumberland.

Still, I would not change our experiences of farming around the world. We know we will never acquire a lot of money, but care not. As an old Aberdonian friend of mine said "Auld Jimmy didna leave £100,000. He was taken awa frae it."

    Blue skies, warm sunshine.

Not taunting anyone, just thought I'd better at least make the occasional positive comment about the weather.

Was that pre-booked or have you given up waiting for dry weather at present?

Booked flights last night. Friend who lives in Brunei booked the hotel the day before.

Got fert on the rape. Will leave some work for my brother. Sprayer service tomorrow then ready to go when I am back.

4 months of almost constant rain - thunderstorms in Bali wont bother me on white sandy beaches with temps in the mid 30s.

You really need to stop - you will get yourself put on ignore by all the forum. We don't want to hear about how you will be leaving these wet soggy unrelentlessnessly rained upon isles. JUST STOP:)
ps. do you need a bag carrier - I can put up with being ignored?
