Taunting us this weather - had one of the darkest most foreboding skies I've seen, this morning, was convinced we were in for Niagara Falls, and not even a single drop!

Long range now backpedalling on the unsettled / useful rain stuff and predicting the possibiltiy of rest of July and August being 'scorchio' - we'll see.

Hello everyone thought I would add my bit, never thought I would ever say we could do with some rain but we desperately do, had 2mins of rain yesterday which hardly dampened the dust then turned hot again and weather forecast is set to get up to 30° again weekend, must of our grass is burnt up and springs for all the sheep's water have dried up, store lamb prices are dropping fast and cattle are starting to follow, only good thing about all this dry is we have managed to bale up 200 bales of rushes as have heard straw is already £130 a ton if you can find it
The dairy farmers who are spreading slurry and washing out are looking green and have heard that there has been rain further up country
Surely it must rain soon

Evening. Been out blight spraying all day. Around 6 mm at home . 4 on the Yorkshire wolds. And 12 next to the sea at Flambrough. Unusual. It tends to get the least. Most of our Potatoes have only had 25mm since we finished planting on the 25th of May.

Oh, I thought you was going to say you had 30mm?
What are your spuds looking like with so little rain/water?
