@bovrill lives in a different climate to us North Essex folk @RushesToo .

I don't suppose that the climate's all that much different, apart from maybe a fog occasionally, but this ground doesn't like letting go of any little bit of moisture that it does get.
An inch now, from yesterday afternoon and this morning. That'll grind things to a halt for most of the week. I was trying to haul some bales into the yard with the Traileyre, and had to give up on the hill yesterday afternoon after 4mm because the tractor just couldn't get uphill!

Up to Friday morning, Sunday was forecast to be wet all day here, with a possible 20-50mm. During Friday the quantity changed to 5-10, and by yesterday changed again to 0.5-1mm. So far we've had none, and a fair bit of sun. It's baffling and frustrating when the forecast changes so much only 24 to 48 hrs ahead!

Total 15 mm here yesterday and today. Drying fast again but has washed a few leaves.

Very frustrating. Our part of south Lincolnshire missed all of the heavy rain on Thursday, it all went north west of us, ended up with 14mm that day. Then like you say all of today's rain has gone south of us meaning we got nothing!!... more rain needed!!
