Unexpected 13mm. overnight, funny sort of a day with drizzle for most of it. Probably 15mm. in gauge now. Respect the wishes of those that have had enough for the time being but we wouldn't say no to a bit more. 25 to 30mm would not cause us any problems and would certainly ease Sugar beet lifting but not hinder remaining autumn drilling.

A day of nothing. Nothing drying, but nothing get wet. In the shed in the gloom pottering about with the beet harvester. Dismantled the steering box and a load of balls fell out. Bearing race had broken up. Searching tinternent for a replacement.
