Compared to -8 c last year which works out at an average of 12 c.....which is.....wait for it....average for the time of year!

Oh and it is also the hottest day of the year So far......until the one that's hotter.

Welcome to stating the bleed obvious BBC weather....I would say forecast but it's usually a history lesson of what the weather WAS like rather than a forecast!

Last time I remember a February as nice as this was 1987 ,,only remember as we were burning reeds and rushes in dyke bottoms ,made finding the suff pipe ends easier
