Just checked the rain guage for October-218mm added to the 127mm we had after the 22nd Setember= 345 mm (another 4mm this morning). Thats over 13.5 inches in old money and more heavy rain forecast for tonight and tomorrow. This is getting really depressing with no end in sight and waterlogged fields everywhere, can't ever remember such a prolonged period of wet autumn weather!
Peeps talk about drilling etc on a frost. I'm afraid that the ground is now so wet that even a in slight frost it will go so concrete hard that it becomes impossible to penetrate without busting something.
Excluding the 2018 snow, this morning was the worst weather I've ever experienced. Truly brutal wind, so strong you could stand. Daylight has revealed quite a bit of damage and a lot of trees down.
