Small amounts but no let up. Has turned the beet field surface to slurry wherever a wheel passes, so packed up at dinner time and did some loading. More wind please. Ploughman still ploughing. A thoroughly miserable day weatherwise but it’s not boggy yet which is encouraging.
Can smell pendimethalin fumes drifting in from all around.

Lovely sunny day today. 29mm yesterday, according to my plastic tip it out each morning rain gauge! brings the total for the last month to 7.5 inches. We are pretty lucky, normally avoiding the extremes of the weather but I can sympathize with all of you that have this to contend with year after year, Farming on Ragdale and Hanslope series clays so things are getting sticky!
