Status: Green (Amber for convective rainfall)
Forecast: Forecast - 24 hours (weather and hazard summary)
Any early brightness in the northeast of the region will quickly disappear with cloud and heavy showery outbreaks of rain spreading northeastwards across the region this morning and continuing throughout the afternoon. The most intense rain is likely to be in western parts of the region. An isolated lightning strike is also possible. There will be further heavy showery rain this evening but this will clear into the North Sea. Becoming mainly dry tonight although it will stay cloudy with this thick enough to produce occasional drizzle.
Rainfall Detail: Hourly rainfall totals of over 10mm are possible locally during today, most likely in western areas with 15-20mm possible locally in Cambridgeshire and western parts of Norfolk. 24 hour rainfall totals of 15-25mm are likely in places, particularly in northern and western parts of the region but with the potential for 25-30mm locally. There will be the potential for localised flooding today, particularly in the north and west.

A cloudy start tomorrow with a little drizzle in places but it will brighten up by the afternoon with sunny spells likely as well as the odd light shower. Mostly dry with clear periods tomorrow night although a shower or two is possible towards the end of the night. Mainly dry on both Thursday and Friday with sunny spells and just the chance of the odd light shower with a dry and partly clear night in between. There is some uncertainty from Friday night onwards with the chance of a band of rain moving in from the west during Friday night. However, it is most likely to remain dry through Friday night with a mixture of sunshine and showers developing on Saturday.
