Status : Green but with Adverse Rainfall
Forecast - 24 hours (weather and hazard summary)
Sunny spells at first this morning. However, as the morning progresses, outbreaks of rain will arrive from the west, these patchy at first but then organizing into a line of heavy and thundery rain into the afternoon. The heavy rain this afternoon will likely stall and linger through into the evening. However, there is still some uncertainty as to the eastward progression of the heaviest rain. In the sharpest downpours hourly rainfall totals could reach 20mm in places with a risk of lightning. Rain looks to linger overnight but easing in intensity.
Where the heavy rain stalls this afternoon and evening will see 24hr rainfall totals reaching 20-30mm quite widely, locally totals could see 30-40mm, especially for areas through west Norfolk and down through Cambridgeshire and into western parts of Essex. Intense downpours and lingering rain into the night will lead to a risk of localized flooding.

Cloud and spells of rain lingering through tomorrow, although brighter towards the east coast with sunny spells. Becoming widely dry overnight with long clear spells and some mist and fog developing in places. Dry and fine on Tuesday with sunny spells followed by a dry night. Uncertainty increases into the middle of the week, but there is the risk of some patchy rain and showers at times, although still with some bright and dry spells during the day. Potentially quite blustery on Thursday too.
