Lovely
Good money in watercress I hear .....Drizzly, and the frost has turned the surface to slop. It's January though. Just 30 tons of beet left to lift, doing it one way, stopping at a "pond" and backing up before the front end sinks in. Not much in the pond, maybe 10 tons which we will lift by hand for the sheep later when it dries a bit. Other side of pond done by machine. The pond was filled in years ago and underdrained but has recreated itself this year. We have jetted under it etc but it is very persistent being more or less solid blue clay. Even a bit of watercress in it. Never really dried out since the 4" back in June, and was just ready to fill up during the wet Autumn. Maybe I will get some ELMS points for it.
Rather miserable
i would rather have minus 5
°C, not °F.If I had the choice of wet or not wet, I'm taking the not. Otherwise I'd like mid thirties, low humidity, slight breeze.
