It’s so wet that an old ditch that was filled in years ago is starting to reappear across my field of sodden wheat. Somebody will say it’s over cultivation or something but whatever system is used, when the ground is saturated with drains running full bore, water will flow horizontally on the surface. It’s even flowing in our wood that hasn’t been cultivated for hundreds of years. Flipping wet winters. In the shed. Have replaced my excavator track motor but now a hydraulic joint is leaking and won’t seal. Looks like a new hose needed.

Boy has it been dirty muddy in the wet we've had but its typical and i've never known it any much different this time o year.
Low light days don't help dampness either, maritime climate i guess, whatever.
Blowing off :sneaky:tonight mind you and a dry but cool day forecast tomorrow .

The ewes need to be housed now or shortly, they are spoiling too much ground.

1c here at the moment with a high of 3c forecast for later, it was nice to see a frost this morning after all that rain & floods yesterday.

Anglia out look:
Weather

Status: GREEN

Forecast - 24 hours (weather and hazard summary)

Largely dry today with sunny spells and just the odd scattered shower across North Sea coasts. Dry this evening and overnight with clear spells allowing for a widespread frost, although cloud amounts will increase during the second half of the night with outbreaks of rain edging into western areas by dawn tomorrow.

Forecast - 2 to 5 Days (weather and hazard summary)

A band of heavy rain and brisk winds will push eastwards tomorrow, with the risk this will fall as sleet and wet snow for a time on the leading edge. A slushy cm or so cannot be completely ruled out in places temporarily before any snow reverts back to rain through the afternoon. Rain will clear to the east during the evening leaving a dry and chilly night with increasingly clear skies. 24hr rainfall totals reaching 5-10mm for most places, although some places may see above 10mm locally across East Anglia. Mainly dry with sunny spells on Sunday with another chilly night to follow. Staying largely dry on Monday, although it will

turn cloudier later in the day with outbreaks of rain pushing in from the south-west overnight and into Tuesday, alongside strengthening winds. Further rain on Tuesday, some of which could turn heavy and persistent at times. It will also stay windy, with gusts in excess of 40mph possible.

Has been dry today but we've had an inch of rain over the previous 3 days. The fields with decent ridges in aren't too bad but the gateways and narrow pieces are trashed and it's looking very likely that another bunch of lambs will have to come in.
