can be a bit uncomfortable but better than that wet cold stuff any day.
Obviously a relatively new thing this. Wasn’t it 38 c in about August 2003. Used to be just a heatwave.

Just a few rumbles and about 1 mm of rain here this evening, but an hour of rain and golf ball sized hailstones at Kibworth in south Leicestershire has caused havoc, apparently every single car that was not under cover is damaged (bodywork dents, broken windscreens and back windows), plus localised flooding. Dread to think what crop damage.
