Partly Cloudy here today,14 at the moment with a high of 18,
East Anglia Forecast:

Status: Adverse - Rainfall

Forecast:

Forecast - 24 hours (weather and hazard summary)

Fairly cloudy this morning with patchy rain across the northern half of the region, Through the afternoon sunny spells and showers will develop, these heavy and most frequent in the south of the region, particularly through southern Suffolk, Essex and down through London areas. The heaviest of these showers will bring a risk of hourly rainfall accumulations of 15-20mm alongside the risk of some lightning strikes. Showers will ease to the south-east through this evening, but a few showers will linger for a time tonight for London areas before turning drier later in the night. Clear spells further north overnight and largely dry.

24hr rainfall totals will reach 20-30mm where showers are heaviest, namely from Suffolk southwards, but locally where some showers linger overnight totals could reach in excess of 30mm bringing a risk of localised flooding.

Forecast - 2 to 5 Days (weather and hazard summary)

Sunny spells tomorrow and a couple of scattered showers, these with hourly rainfall accumulations locally approaching 10mm in places. Showers will fade away through the evening followed by a largely dry night with clear spells and perhaps some patchy mist and fog forming in places. A very similar picture on Tuesday with sunny spells and a few scattered showers, these again fading through the evening and it will become dry overnight. Wednesday and Thursday look to have a greater risk of some more widespread heavy and potentially thundery showers developing during the daytime and looking to stay unsettled on Thursday night with further spells of rain.

A dry and bright start to today. Through this afternoon a few showers will begin to develop, some turning locally sharp and thundery with rainfall totals reaching 10-15mm an hour, particularly (but not exclusively) around Norfolk. Any showers then easing and dying away through the evening to leave it drier overnight.

Forecast - 2 to 5 Days (weather and hazard summary)

Another bright start on Wednesday with scattered showers forming through the afternoon, again with the risk of some locally high rainfall totals in spots. Little change into Thursday, a few lighter showers to start along the Essex and Suffolk coast, before showers come more widespread as the day goes on. Showers are expected to turn increasingly heavy and organised late in the day, associated with a large area of low pressure, also bringing a risk of lightning and some blustery winds. This system will then gradually clear eastwards later in the night, with 24hr rainfall totals around 10-15mm in spots. Sunshine and scattered showers for both Friday and Saturday, with the risk of some high hourly and 24 hour rainfall totals.

Had 38mm between 8 and 9 this morning. Problem is we started mowing some grass at 6am! No rain forecast and none on the radar even when it was raining like Fock.

hot sun now though but it won’t do us much good for a while.

East Anglia……
Status: Green

Forecast:

Forecast - 24 hours (weather and hazard summary)

Dry to start this morning with sunny spells. Some showers developing from late morning onwards and becoming more widespread during the afternoon. The showers are likely to be slow-moving, and could produce rainfall totals of around 15mm in an hour. The showers are expected to die away during the evening, leaving a dry night.

Forecast - 2 to 5 Days (weather and hazard summary)

Sunny intervals and just the odd shower on Thursday morning. Some showers pushing in during the afternoon, merging into bands of rain at times and accompanied by brisk southerly winds. Some heavier showers likely during the evening, with hourly rainfall totals of 10-15mm possible locally. This rain clearing north-east overnight.

Showers becoming more widespread on Friday, blowing in on brisk south-westerly winds. These winds gusting to around 40mph in the south at their peak during the afternoon, possibly strong enough to damage branches given many trees in full leaf. Some of the showers will be heavy, with a risk of frequent lightning strikes in the heaviest showers as well as hail. Rainfall totals of 15-20mm are possible in locations affected by the heaviest showers, most likely in the north of the region. The showers are expected die away late in the evening, leaving a largely dry night. Further heavy, blustery showers are expected on Saturday, with some longer spells of rain possible later in the day. Another day of blustery showers is likely on Sunday.

BBC deemed to update me in regard to the chance of a heavy shower just after id packed the sprayer away from dessicating wheat. Sigh.
