Glad we didn’t get that as it would have flattened a bit27 mm on the coast ie Filey apparently, near by on the wolds 71 mm it seems that the tide held it here for to long
No significant rain, just enough spits and spots and low cloud and mist to keep everything damp and steamy. Nothing gets below 17.5% at this rate. Seems like we are turning into a tropical climate. Whether it will pick up this week is anybody’s guess.
Worse still 9.30 and we are stilling in thick fog. Wheat is now wetter than it was 2 days agoMore rain during the night . Heavy enough to wake me up in the early hours.
it’s getting very testing now
Exactly the same as our SB, dad said I’m going to combine it (last Friday) before the forecast thunderstorms this wkend. It was flat in places, 18-16.8% moisture! Had 1.5mm of rain.Similar. 22.5%, wheat glyphosated a fortnight ago. Might nibble a bit more of the fitter spring barley off later on. Heads dry quicker but some of that just isn’t fit, in patches. Haven’t had any barley under 18 yet. Green grains bring it up in the heap and show no sign of ripening. Meanwhile the fit stuffs breaks down. A frustrating harvest.
I’ve got it, gently breeze and warm sunshine down hereDull overcast morning . Grass is damp.
Where’s this harvesting weather ?
