Your current weather.

I'd like to see what the weather you all are experiencing throughout the year. Tempeture and conditions. Just post what it was like and if there any changes.

Yesterday morning it was 53F and drizzle. About noon cleared off and windy at 15mph gusting to 30. Temp dropped throughout the day. This morning it was 12F with 10mph wind, felt like 0F. Snow flurries thoroughly the day.

we are gonna be getting some clippers i guess. should be interesting.
Good, that usually means we warm up here (y)

I remember the first year of the "rare" Alberta clipper. I was living in Manitoba and waiting for the school bus at a -60 wind chill. Meanwhile in Alberta my brother had no school because it was 20 above and the school's water line had exploded.... And they were so rare they happened over and over and over again :banghead:

Unless in Ohio clipper means something else and you just got my hopes up for nada.

OK I give in, what's a clipper in the weather context?
Here a Clipper is when a nice warm front comes in from the south and pushes the air north into the territories where it swings back south and takes out Saskatchewan and Manitoba with frigid temperatures.

I think a few of them have come out of Alaska too but those are the ones that take out Alberta with cold.

Here in the Midwest a clipper is a fast moving front that dumps a ton of snow in a matter of minutes to a couple hours. Usually in between them we have clear skies. Though they blow in with a lot of wind. Quite typical, but dangerous if you are on the road and they ain't salted. Last year we had a foot in a day just on three clippers alone

@aggravated farmer I'm surprised you consider Ohio to be Midwest? I always thought that would be from Iowa/Missouri/Kansas/Nebraska through the wheat belt?

Excuse my ignorance, been on five trips to America but not yet made it into the vast ares in the middle of my big map. Did about 2000 miles on each trip but my traced lines hardly register on a country so big!

Don't worry about it. We are a Midwestern state, though not in the wheat belt, we are in the corn belt. To be honest I would also put us into the Great Lake states too. It is a matter of opinion and location in Ohio. Western and central Ohio is flat. The rest is hills eastern and southern is on the cusp of Appalachia. We get weather patterns from the plains, gulf, Canada, and once in a great while the Atlantic.
