A mate had an oil tanker like the little Leyland above, his was known as a Clydesdale. Driver drove into the yard one day and instead of using the foot-brake, pulled the handbrake. Locked the back axle and on the wet (oily) cement, slide straight into a storage tank ..............
Oh, the memories ...............

I must have missed this post at the time, but although a long time ago I probably fitted a tachograph in the old Atki or similar ones on the fleet, when tacho's first became compulsory
Is Corbett's site still there or has it been developed, not been that way for awhile

Still there. Their Taxis run out of there and thinks it's used by other Haulage Cos and ODs

I had hoped to post some pics here today from a road run and gathering we were to attend, but had to turn for Home near Lichfield because I think my head gasket has blown again.

Bugger. :(:(

Not to a water gallery this time, just blowing smoke out. She drove home a treat but thought it best to head home. Very vexed.

No, so hopefully it’s just blowing smoke to the outside. No loss of power either. We can’t see any fumes from the exhaust gasket so we are presuming head gasket, but may be lucky.

We will let it go cold overnight and have a look tomorrow. Hopefully the cold white smoke will show up better.
