There is a new "farm workers bungalow" that looks more like a bloody big mansion being built just below the castle. A mile and a quarter away from here in a straight line, directly behind the lorry.
Footprint is 175 square metres and it is 2 storeys at least, shows up on Google Earth

I only caught a glimpse as I passed the other day, I did wonder how it had got planning there

Nice 111, I knew a Chap that set up on his own he had 2 111's and a knackered Iveco 360 Turbostar thing that was the bee's knees apparently ......ex DFDS & flogged to f**k B Reg back then so flash.. The cab would be upon it more than it was out and him and his MingMong son would be there with the Argos "Mechanics Kit" He's give up and fire up one of the 111's The Chosen one would just smoke its tits off and crawl out of the grass into the distance.

I already have an old ERF B series I bought ~18 months ago when I was a bottle of Merlot down on eBay. It's scruffy... but it's pretty much all there. I have a logbook application in with DVLA and they've just banked my cheque, so it's looking hopeful. I only bought it for the engine, initially - I fancied plopping a Gardner diesel in to one of my 1932 Morris 10/4 saloons but when I saw the sheer size of the lump, that quickly went out of the window!

It still starts on the key. No brakes but it's still makes air, so I'll free them all off and inspect them. After that, it's all cosmetic as the electrics all work. Oh, and I need to hoover 1,000,000 dead flies out of it.

I'll need a few trim bits which will be a nightmare to find - a steering column cover and driver's door card in blue, thinks like that. I'll have to get the sewing machine out and make some new curtains, too. The biggest job will be blasting the chassis, because I've bloody well sold my sandblaster to another TFFer! D'oh!

When Dad worked there they were called Contractamix and the lorries were the same cream colour but with green details I think.

I was very young but on the odd occasion I went with him I thought it was fantastic.

Fast forward to me being 18 and at Sparsholt College. The mill and mix lorry was booked for Wednesday afternoon (which was free time) and they were looking for a couple of volunteers. With rose tinted memories my hand was up like a shot and I roped my best mate (still to this day) in with me.

There followed a feck miserable afternoon in the rain and dust with the familiar scream of a Detroit V6 engine that stayed with us all night. What a poxy job!!

You could try Rush Green Motors for bits and bobs, an amazing place for old lorry fans.
