depending how close they are spaced and what roof you are fitting but i would say you need 200mm deep x 1.6mm thick @about £4.25 per meter steel sections ltd (0121 556 9111) but steadmans must be on your doorstep but maybe not so cheap

we use 2mm on bays over 20 ft and never use the quick fix sag bars allways use side raill supports that are bolted back to back through purlins much better job as purlins dont roll and use eternit sheets on roof if you can (4%price rise in jan so hurry up)

Your best bet is to call the suppliers like bw-Industries or similar and tell them what your doing and they can recommend a size and design. They will tell you if you need sleeves and anti-sags etc.

My point about 1.6mm wasnt suggesting that you do use that thickness it was just to inform you not to use any thinner, even if the supplier says 1.5 will be ok.

Is there any kind of standised hole punching on these things ?, I've looked at several manufacturers and they are all differant and none match up to the plans for my shed !.

I'm looking at 177-1.6 roof purlin,200-2.0 eaves beam and 140-1.6 for the sides

Each manufacturer has their own standard hole punchings. You can order non standard but it will cost you . Your best bet is to ask your shed supplier what supplier they have set the holes for. Depending who you bought your shed off, most of the ones up north will have set them for BW Industries.

If you know the vertical hole centres for the 177 purlins I can probably tell you who that suits.
