So it's been that dry we've been out cutting again the past week. Grass sampling unusually high in protein

My brother in law is at leek, you won't be too far away,if you can keep cutting it keep feeding it, the way the weather can change with you take it while you can.
What setup are you running ?
Yes I can just about see your relations from my top ground. My ‘setup’ is at the forefront of technological design, it’s a late 1970’s taarup single chop and an even more modern case ih 844 turbo.

We've tried cutting the night before if heavy rain is forecast next day but it does start to heat by the following afternoon, the fresher the better

Normally try to cut it as fresh as possible here also but if heavy rain is coming and ground conditions are deteriorating then we’ll cut the night before and spread it out. A bit more work but doesn’t heat anywhere near as much.

Great setup @Suckndiesel , would like to try and get something like that going myself, rather than going outright and getting a zero grazer.

Out of interest, how do you find your Merlo, we bought a Turbo Farmer new just over 3 years ago, and it has broke my heart. We had 2 Manitous before that which where relatively trouble free.

Thanks.
Have had 4 merlos since 1994. Get on well enough with them, currently have a 2010 32.6 and a 2009 28.8. Don’t know much about the newer ones but wouldn’t be keen on all the emissions guff on them now. What bother did you have?

Friend is selling this if anyone is interested:

"Zero Grazing Outfit
2 Mowers & 1 feed out box, Full working order can be seen working. All on LGP tyres, wide angle PTO shafts. Only selling due to change in farming policy, Open to sensible offers, would split."

That could be my old zero grazer. Didn’t stay here long before we realised it was too tight getting it down feed passage [emoji85][emoji23]

Thanks.

Just about anything electrical seems to give bother;
solenoids controlling boom,
water temp sensors
handbrake
seat sensor
etc etc

Just after I typed that message yesterday morning it would not start when I went to feed the cows.
