I haven’t bought it, just trying it. You sound like you have had a bad experience?Good Luck!, you'll need it all !!
About 75min. One trip per day, feeding it out with some silage. Isn’t ideal, but needs must this summer. Girls hopefully getting a start to graze again next couple of daysHow long does it take to do a round trip at that distance? Certainly wouldn’t want to be doing too many trips!
some collection of pipes and wires hanging round the front of it!
the mower has too much weight on the bottom saucers of mower, it eats bearings for fun, we actually had a spare set of saucers and bearing on standby it was that bad!!,I haven’t bought it, just trying it. You sound like you have had a bad experience?
Mine already where on strike we where buying silage which was good on paper but like trying to get blood from a stone to make them milk on it. Nearly bought a heap of it, pleased I just took what I needed.Cows would go on strike of i brought that into them.
Yea got one back in autumn 2012, few teething problems at the start but they seem to be rightly ironed out now on the later machines. 8 1/2 feet cut is a must for wet conditions IMO as less running about the field, also easier start up and more reliable than the drum mowers. Had a couple of bonino Italian made machines with the 7ft drum before that, they were just ok, far too soft a machine with bits breaking fairly often.Anyone running a “Zero Grazer” machine made in Ireland with the disc mower on front? Looks good from pictures, Any views good or otherwise
Thank you for that reply, some very interesting information. What size of machine is yours and roughly how much grass will it hold? Fully agree with @Suckndiesel we tried a zg off niall and was a very good machine, but he wouldn't fit a conveyor. We ended up with a 2nd hand bonino 80 which was OK but not built aswell as the zgThank you for that reply, some very interesting information. It’s a zg100. It will hold around 7.5ton of dry grass.Thank you for that reply, some very interesting information. What size of machine is yours and roughly how much grass will it hold? Cheers
Wouldn’t be too worried about having a conveyor would probably just be more weight to drag around, the bonino does look a bit flimsy and very under tyred.Fully agree with @Suckndiesel we tried a zg off niall and was a very good machine, but he wouldn't fit a conveyor. Cheers, what size of tractor are you needing to pull that? It’s a zg100. It will hold around 7.5ton of dry grass.
From what I understand they won’t fit a conveyor as the beaters are very slow and it is also something else to give bother. If the grass that was cut was from heavy covers I don’t even think it would work at all.
That would be pretty second hand? Take it you got the trailer that tips sideways with the beaters along the side?We looked at lots of them when we were buying ones the zero grazer looked the strongest and best to buy but as said above wasn’t keen on fitting a conveyer so ended up buying the Ed wally type machine instead
Yeah it’s not new now but still in good shape guy we bought it from had a new trailer made so it’s good had to place a bearing on the harvester that’s been it this yearThat would be pretty second hand? Take it you got the trailer that tips sideways with the beaters along the side?
The flywheel forager design is wonderfully simple and robust
It’s been on a fendt 412 most of this summer, it’s sufficient but we don’t have any proper hills, on steep ground you’d probably want 160hp. The bonino ones are dead on if you arent doing a lot of work but you are correct the tyres on them aren’t great, the zg100 is on 710/45r22.5, if we are marking with them then we know we probably shouldn’t be in the field!Cheers, what size of tractor are you needing to pull that?
Quite a few tricky steep stuff here which needs a bit of care but manageable with a bit of thought and planning as to best way to cut itIt’s been on a fendt 412 most of this summer, it’s sufficient but we don’t have any proper hills, on steep ground you’d probably want 160hp. The last bonino we had was an 8 wheeler one, working across a greasy slope it would have slid right round sideways like it was on a set of skis, pulled the tractor with it on one occasion.Quite a few tricky steep stuff here which needs a bit of care but manageable with a bit of thought and planning as to best way to cut it
On better going today. Had to do a repair this morning though. Skid disc fell off the mower yesterday View attachment 983888View attachment 983889
