Zetor 7340 / John Deere 2400 specs please

Okay, I removed the head. Strange thing is the sump is full of water now after standing for 2 weeks. Did it leak through the gasket down into the sump?
If I was you I'd put head back on with new gasket and fill rad with water
Drain oil and leave bung out,see if water comes out the sump still
If it does drop the sump and look up and see if water is dropping down the side of a liner
There are 2 large orings on the liners to seal

Heads are removed, filled with water to where its level with the water galleries in block. Drained the oil so will see tomorrow morning if the water drained into the sump again. Will go from there then. Don't know why I always end up buying other people's junk.

If the heads and sump is off it's easy to do the liner orings
Undo big end tap piston out then tap liner out
Plenty of silicon grease on oring to reassemble

Water in the sump again this morning! Going to park it in the corner till I have time to mess with it later. Was supposed to load around 1500 round bales, going to have to make some other plan then

One thing that bothers me a little is, when I open the little tap on the side of the block a lot of water still comes out. Wouldn't all the water have drained out if it was one of the o-rings leaking? Sorry for the stupid questions, still have lots to learn.

No not necessarily, its not an easy leak, just a leak and no more. That's why liquid sealant can work so well. It may well be O rings, but also likely to be cavitation in the liners caused by no additive in the coolant over the years. The corrosion drills holes in the liner. Sump off and see where its actually coming from, if its inside the cylinder (rather than down along side the outside) its cavitation. Click for more information

Sorry for the bad news, just giving you the full picture, hopefully its just O rings .........

The liners are probably corroded. There prone to it. Roy perfect will sort you out with the parts. There usually easy to just knock out. You'll see the cavitation like pin holes. The liners have a Mark on that lines up with a Mark on the piston

Removed the sump - no leak!? All that I can think is that it is a o-ring that leaked and somehow sealed itself up during the 2 hours that I dragged the tractor home. Don't have any other explanation

Block was full of water after standing for about 2 weeks after blowing gasket before Christmas. Drained the water out of the sump , topped radiator up and next day sump full of water again. That was yesterday, we left the plug out as it was dripping water still Dragged it home this morning dropped sump, no water leaking that I can see.
