One or two wet spots still as we keep getting topped up with rain, I've found a few long lost drain outfalls since then.

All depends on the number of openers. Our 4.8m has 21 openers and needs about 240-250 hp although we have 300hp on it as that was all we could find second hand!!
Also depends on soil type, topography and whether you're drilling into cover crop or bare soil.
Hp is cheap so don't skimp! Also big boots on tractor help.

No fert applied just straight in and got rolled as well (prob unnecessary)
Having just researched changing a tractor, I can confirm that the bold statement above is actual, full on, 100% cobblers!! (Certainly a huge amount dearer than the last one I bought!!)

For us a second hand 300 hp tractor was no more expensive than a 250hp in the same range!
Obviously when new more horses costs more money but interestingly not when 2nd hand!

I suppose its the law of the lexion combine.
If you've got enough acres to afford a big one, you can afford a new one. And in the same way if you have enough demand for hp your likely to more likely want a new one than a s/h one.

We have a Lexion too but was bought second hand for the same price of a much newer combine of "the right size"!
My point being that second hand big kit can be very cost effective to buy and operate and offers big output so we can pick and choose best conditions. (As long as well maintained and biggest depreciation hits already taken!)

Please can someone post some photos of some autumn drilled cereals that have gone in with a Mzuri Pro-Til?
I love the concept, and there are heaps of videos on YouTube of them working, but I can't say any of the pictures posted here have been of particularly healthy looking crops. They all look rather patchy and thin compared to other systems.

I can see your point but, if this was true you should notice it when buying new as well? When I look online on second hand websites the smaller ones (i.e JD 8230, 8330, 8430) are actually more expensive than the 8530s? Quite probably because they have done less hours being owned by smaller farms?
