Anyone got any idea how a scrappy would value a solar inverter core? From what I can see they’re a mixture of copper and steel, roughly the volume of a kitchen sink and weigh 160kg.
Can you cut it open to separate ?

Probably. They’re coated in tape and plastic so wouldn’t be easy to clean up.

Usually about a tenth of the copper price, so 700 a tonne ish at the moment?

I got £500 a ton for electric motors 2 weeks back
Depends how easy it is to separate? If only way is to put in frag not a lot over steel price unless there's some quantity.

If frag is only way try to find someone with a small frag who'll do a deal on out turn if you are confident of copper content. Bear in mind if copper is light material some wil be lost up the pipe.
That's a big inverter ! is it not worth more than scrap as repairable ??
