All has its place;
G lime for emergency jobs (spring panic, down the tramlines etc)
Calcium or Magnesium lime applications done regularly ever 3 - 5 years depending on soil tests. Using a decent contractor or your own spreader with all the proper equipment GPS, VRA, big tyres, etc
I'm looking to hire 2 x telehandelers for this harvest period. Need to be Ag spec 526-56 or 531-70 or similar, joystick operation as bloody piano levers are a nightmare !! No need for puh or 40k
All advice welcome, thanks
Tried to get some Roadbibs, but still on farm trails and aren't available yet. So do we pay big bucks for Mich's or less money for Mitas or BKT's then replace sooner with Roadbibs when available as I hear very good reports about them
Trying to get a larger footprint and better traction, if we reduce the pressure too much with 60 profiles there is very little 'cushion' left in the sidewall, given the load transfer from the muck spreader
Certainly hardness of the parent rock makes all the difference, if soft chalk 4mm down to dust will be fine. But if hard rock a finer ground product would be more suitable
