Has any body else found the battery on an S5 gets very hot at times and drains power very quickly ,,literally gone from 50% to 25% in less than an hour with no use .
Having to take apart to cool it down ,,this isn't the first time ,,also had the same problem with my S2 ,,that nearly went up in smoke

When I took a phone in for repair they told me I was basically carrying a bomb around in my pocket, Li-ion batteries burst into flames quite easily, especially if damaged. I'd get a new battery as it's only just started doing it.

Have you looked at the battery tool to see what is draining your power?

Whoops- just deleted that from my phone this weekend- got fed up with constant messages from it..

Time will tell if I get any problems without it.
So did I for the same reason. I'm not claiming it's a great app, it is just that it claimed to be able to control battery temp.

Just go into settings and change the notifications to what you want to be reminded about or switch them all off. The app does a good job but like everything not perfect!

I had the same occasional problem with a HTC. That was kept from doing so by switching completely off every three or four days while on Honeycomb or Ice Cream Sandwich.

My wife's new Asus/Google Nexus 5 running Android Lollipop has no such issue so far.

Is it a hardware problem or is it an issue with certain versions of Android? Maybe an App issue? Certainly using the sat-nav feature used to make the older Androids boil.
